Volunteer photographer Pat Van Dyke, known for her scenic photos around the lake, has been mostly out of commission the past couple of month while enduring treatment for a sarcoma in her leg. Of this photo she says, "It has been so hard seeing my camera sitting on my dresser unused for the last two months. I can't crawl around the rocks and sit on the sand right now. It's probably the thing that bothers me the most! The Lord knew my dilemma and sent me an opportunity (to take a sunset picture) right in my own backyard!"

Four members of the Canyon Lake Triathlon Club competed at Ironman Austria on June 29. An Ironman event is an ultra distance triathlon consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2-mile run.
