City residents invited to free dumping of junk at clean up day

The City of Canyon Lake, in partnership with CR&R, is inviting the community to its annual cleanup and document shredding event tomorrow, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Canyon Lake Community Church parking lot. This event is a once-a-year opportunity to clean out garages and yards of junk, including large items and hauling it all over for free disposal.

Residents can also take advantage of shredding services available from 8:00 a.m. to noon, which provide a secure way to dispose of sensitive documents and help prevent identity theft. This initiative is a reflection of the city’s ongoing efforts to safeguard personal information and maintain a clean, secure environment.

The cleanup event is designed to help residents dispose of bulky items that are not accepted through regular trash services, including furniture, yard waste, large appliances, and electronic waste. To participate, residents must show proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill.

Please note that certain items, such as tires, car parts, household hazardous waste, and construction materials, will not be accepted. The event also strictly prohibits commercial and business dumping to ensure it remains focused on residential needs.

For more information or any questions about the event, residents are encouraged to contact Canyon Lake City Hall at 951-244-2955.
