It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carlene Foland, beloved wife, mother, and cherished member of the Canyon Lake community. Carlene passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024, after bravely battling ALS for over a year.

Born on October 9, 1945, Carlene graced the world with her presence and touched countless lives with her kindness and grace. In her youth, she achieved remarkable milestones, including being crowned as Miss Glendora and later, Miss Los Angeles County. These accolades were a testament to her beauty, poise, grace and inner strength, qualities that defined her throughout her life.

Carlene dedicated her life to her family, friends, and her community.  She married her loving husband, Thomas Foland, and together they shared 30 years of unwavering love and commitment until Tom passed away in 2010. Throughout their journey, they built a beautiful family and created countless memories together.

Carlene poured her heart and soul into raising her three sons. She was a pillar of strength and a source of unconditional love for her family, always putting their needs above her own. Her nurturing spirit and selfless devotion will forever be remembered by those who knew her.

Despite her diagnosis of ALS in December of 2022, Carlene faced her illness with remarkable courage and grace. She approached each day with determination and resilience, inspiring all who witnessed her unwavering spirit. Her bravery in the face of adversity serves as a testament to her remarkable character and indomitable will. Even in the face of adversity, she remained steadfast in her faith of Jesus Christ and her unwavering devotion to God.

Carlene is survived by her three devoted sons, Jay, Mark and Brad, and stepchildren Kerry Adkins and Sheri White.  Carlene devoted her life as Nana to her 16 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, all who were her pride and joy.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Carlene will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace. Her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held May 11 at 2:00 p.m. at 30140 Happy Hunter Dr., Canyon Lake. All who would like to attend are invited.
