Sad day

Canyon Lake family and friends, I hope that you will look back fondly on the memories photographed, the stories told, and the information gathered in these Friday Flyer pages.

This is a sad day for many who have worked to keep the Friday Flyer in our community. A sad day for those who loved it as much as I did. Throughout the years, hours have been given, deadlines have been made and the community has benefited from the great dedication of the Friday Flyer owners and staff.

I remember fondly moving to Canyon Lake and picking up my Friday Flyer which shared the week’s highlights of what was to come and what had just passed. Seeing pictures of friends, our kids, our community events in print was something special to me.

It was like we had our own little “Mayberry” with our Friday Flyer. A true treasure that I am so thankful to have been a part of. I cut out clippings and saved many of the special memories of my and my family’s last 11 years here.

Chuck, thank you for the life you brought from the little Friday Flyer that touched so many hearts. I can never thank you enough for the experience and honor it was for me to be a part of it. I sit here with tears in my eyes as we say one last goodbye, shutting this chapter, but wishing all of the staff and yourself an exhilarating next chapter as your new adventures begin. Thank you!
