Way Out and Invaluable for The Friday Flyer

The Friday Flyer would not be in existence without these two who week after week have worked on The Friday Flyer while we sleep. Meet Balya Sudhakaran (nicknamed Amritha) and Bivin Sudhakaran, a sister and brother team from Kerala, India who are masters at newspaper layout and take the content Friday Flyer reporters and ad executives give them and they produce the final layouts that go to press.

With the miracle of the internet and cloud storage, the files appear instantaneously back and forth as if they’re in the next room as deadlines hit and proofs go back and forth. They have been part of the Golding Publications team for almost 12 years. They know Canyon Lake and your clubs and street names as well as most long-time residents. Go ahead, quiz them! They are available at amritha.c3@gmail.com

When the pandemic hit in 2020, Amritha and Bivin proved to be especially essential. They, too, were locked down, but were able to produce at a normal rate while The Friday Flyer staff continued to churn out content to give to them to lay out.

“Today was a highly emotional day for us siblings,” Amritha said. “This is the last time we will be laying out or working on the advertisements for The Friday Flyer, which has been an integral part of our lives for these past years. We are thankful to Chuck and everyone with whom we had the chance to work with at the Golding Publications. We will miss each and every one of you.”

Bivin Sudhakaran

As The Friday Flyer publishes its final full newspaper this week, Golding Publications loses its regular relationship with these two really good friends as well. It’s the most difficult part of the closing of the office and although there will be occasional contact with everybody, it won’t ever be the same.

Amritha and Bivin have been an integral part of this Friday Flyer family. We will miss the weekly smiles and stories. These are quality people who we’ll miss dearly.
