Yacht Club hosts Elks for a day on the lake

In a delightful display of community spirit and inter-club cooperation, the Canyon Lake Yacht Club hosted members of the Lake Elsinore/Wildomar Elks Club #2591 for a scenic cruise around Canyon Lake.

The initiative began when the Yacht Club received a request from the nearby Elks Club, whose members, some of whom had never visited Canyon Lake, were staying at the Happy Camp with over 20 RVs. Recognizing an opportunity to share their slice of paradise, Joe and Carmel Lemke, who hold memberships in both the Elks and Yacht Clubs, organized a mid-day cruise for nearly 40 Elks members.

Several captains from the Yacht Club volunteered their boats and time to take the guests on a tour of the Main Lake. The excursion provided the Elks members a chance to experience the beauty and tranquility of Canyon Lake, often described by residents as their little piece of paradise.

Vice Commodore Dave Carter expressed his enthusiasm for the event>

“It is always a pleasure to have other people experience what we are fortunate to experience every day,” Dave said.

His sentiment was echoed by participants, who enjoyed a wonderful outing filled with camaraderie and stunning lake views.
