Family Matters Club to offer Etiquette Classes for kids

The Canyon Lake Family Matters Club is set to host its popular etiquette class for children aged 5 to 18, scheduled from April 29 to May 3 at the Eastport Building. This class is part of the club’s efforts to instill good manners and social skills in the community’s youth.

The class runs daily starting at 6:00 p.m. and includes a series of interactive and educational activities. These are designed to teach children the importance of “Magic Words,” proper greetings, and making positive impressions. The registration fee is $25 for the first child and $20 for each additional sibling, with scholarships available to ensure no interested family is left out.

Shawna Bowen, the club’s founder, emphasized the unique approach of the classes.

“Children learn best when their parents aren’t present,” she said. “This setting encourages them to interact more freely and absorb the lessons effectively.”

The sessions culminate in a formal graduation ceremony where the students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their newly acquired etiquette skills.

Club President Jeannie Hoonnirun expressed her enthusiasm for the graduation event. She said the kids love to show off all the things they learned. She believes this not only builds confidence but also reinforces the lessons in a memorable way.

Families interested in the etiquette classes can find more information and register their children by visiting the Canyon Lake Family Matters Facebook Group Page or contacting the club via email at info@familymattersclub.org.
