Thompson Square to headline next Concert at the Lodge

Acclaimed American country music duo Thompson Square will take the stage April 20 at the next Canyon Lake Property Owners Association “Concert at the Lodge.” Comprising husband and wife Keifer and Shawna Thompson, the duo has made a significant impact on the country music scene since signing with Stoney Creek Records in 2010.

The concert is set for the Holiday Bay Room of the newly-remodeled Canyon Lake Lodge.

Thompson Square is known for its powerful vocal interplay and has released three albums, yielding 14 charted singles on the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts.

Their multi-platinum hit, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not,” written by David Lee Murphy and Jim Collins, became the duo’s first number one single on the Hot Country Songs chart and was the most played song of the year on country music radio.

Doug Schultz, the Talent Buyer, Producer, and Emcee of the concert series, expressed his excitement for the upcoming show, highlighting the duo’s successful career, which includes Grammy nominations, tours around the world, and multiple awards from ACM, ACA, CMA, and CMT.

“The Canyon Lake audience is in for a real treat with these big country music stars,” Schultz said. “This is going to be a special upfront and personal acoustic show. ‘Concerts at the Lodge’ is an awesome unique concert experience for Canyon Lakers. Where else can you drive your car or golf cart a few minutes to the venue, park for free, have dinner before the show if you want, and witness an actual national recording artist perform live in-concert right in your own backyard?”

After a brief hiatus to focus on family, Thompson Square is back, bringing their latest work, “Masterpiece,” to the stage.

The album reflects the duo’s journey, including the highs and lows of love and partnership, and showcases their growth as artists and individuals.

Opening for Thompson Square will be Kim Johnson from Orange County, a schoolteacher with a passion for music.

Influenced by artists like Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell, and Patty Griffin, Johnson’s Country/Americana/Soul sound offers a deeply personal touch, drawing on her experiences and emotions.

The “Concert at the Lodge” series offers a unique and intimate concert experience, allowing Canyon Lake residents to enjoy top-tier entertainment close to home.

With doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and Kim Johnson starting the show at 7:30 p.m., attendees are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy the venue’s high-end sound and lighting systems.

Thompson Square will take the stage at approximately 8:30 p.m. for what promises to be an unforgettable acoustic performance.
