The City of Canyon will not comment on its placing of its city manager, Nicole Dailey, on administrative leave as of March 14. The reasons for the action and how long it will take to get through the process of making a decision about Nicole’s future with the city were not released due to the city’s policy of not discussing personnel issues.
Nicole, the former deputy city manager in Lake Elsinore, has only been at the City of Canyon Lake since her being hired in February last year. She replaced Chris Mann, who took up a city manager position in Yucaipa. Her contract with the city was set to run until February 2026.
During Nicole’s leave, the city has appointed Administrative Services Director Mike Borja as acting city manager.
