Sold-out Sinatra Tribute Concert a fan favorite

Matt Mauser took the Canyon Lake Lodge stage Saturday to bring back the Frank Sinatra memories to a sold-out Canyon Lake audience and he pulled it off without a hitch.

“Canyon Lake Guild hits it out of the ballpark yet again,” Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild President Bonnie Dubbs said. “Matt and the Big Band paid tribute to Frank Sinatra and delivered a performance that left a lasting impression on everyone who attended. Not only was the concert sold out, but it was one of the best concerts the Guild has had.”

Matt’s connection to Canyon Lake and the touching tribute to his late wife Michelle added an extra layer of emotion to the concert. It’s clear that Matt’s love for the community runs deep, and his dedication to providing an unforgettable experience for the moved audience shined through in his electrifying performance.

Matt and the Pete Jacobs Band performed for The Guild back in 2019. Matt showed a certain kind of love for Canyon Lake and said he was thinking about moving his family to the community from Huntington Beach. Shortly after, Matt’s wife, Michelle, perished in Kobe Bryant’s helicopter crash.

The way Matt seamlessly weaved personal stories and musical education into his set made the concert even more personable. And despite the emotional moments, he continued to entertain with his incredible talent and energy.

Matt’s wife’s best friend Ashley and her family, who live in Canyon Lake, were in attendance. When Matt acknowledged her, the audience felt the emotion of the moment.

“It truly shows the bonds that music can create and how it brings people together, even in the face of tragedy,” Bonnie said. “It’s moments like these that remind us of the power of compassion and connection.”

And Matt’s repertoire was not just that of Frank Sinatra. Matt sang multiple songs from all types of musicians, including Elvis, the Bee Gees and others.

Those attending had all kinds of great things to say about Matt and the concert

“The concert was so fun, for all ages,” Iris Stricklin said. “Matt pulled everyone in when he added in a little Elvis and his stage presence was phenomenal. The whole evening was great, a night to remember.”

“We both Loved the concert,” Loretta Dudziak said. “I loved the different singers that Matt sang their songs. We will attend this concert again!”

“One of the most energizing and entertaining concerts I have ever been to,” Shawna Bowen said. “Matt Mauser is an extreme talent. We are so blessed to live where we get to enjoy events and such up close and personal venue. Thanks CL Guild”

“Matt was so comfortable coming back to Canyon Lake,” Bonnie said. “He really showed himself, especially being the jokester he is. We received Matt Mauser in the raw.”

“Saturday’s concert with Matt Mauser was one of the best concerts we have attended,” Stephanie Emery said. “Matt gave a fantastic performance, and it was very entertaining. Good job like always, and never disappointed in the Guild’s hard work.”
