In Memoriam: William R. Stevenson

William R. Stevenson

William “Bill” Stevenson has gone to play golf in heaven with his oldest son, Dan, on Dec. 27, 2023. He was born 95 years ago in Inglewood, CA. He married the love of his life Louise. Bill and Louise were married for 77 years. They had three children, Dan, Grace, and Barney.

In 1952, Bill built their home in San Dimas, where they lived for 40 years. Bill and Louise moved to Canyon Lake, to live Bill’s dream of living on a golf course. They were involved with several Canyon Lake clubs. Bill enjoyed many years playing golf with friends and occasionally with family. Louise enjoyed meeting on Monday mornings with ladies at the Canyon Lake Senior Center. They were residents of Canyon Lake for 28 years. At that point of their lives, they moved to Escondido to be close to Bill’s sister and niece.

Bill is survived by his wife, Louise, daughter Grace (husband Ed) Glass, son Barney (wife Thuy), daughter-in-law Betty, his sister Florence Farrell, nieces and nephews, eight grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Dan.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. There will be no services respecting Bill’s wishes.
