Canyon Cowboy to host fundraiser at Sara Price rally

The Canyon Cowboy restaurant is calling on the community to support one of their own, Sara Price, as she gears up to fulfill her lifelong dream of competing in the 2024 Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia early next year. A fundraiser is set to be held on Dec. 2, from 5:00 p.m. to midnight, to back Sara in her ambitious endeavor.

“For as long as I can remember, being behind the wheel of an off-road vehicle in the Dakar Rally has been at the top of my bucket list,” Sara, a former Canyon Lake resident who was raised in the community, said. “This year, I promised myself I would do everything in my power to race in 2024, and now this dream is a reality. I’m more ready than ever and want to make America proud.”

Her connection to Canyon Lake is deep-rooted, having moved to Canyon Lake at age 8 and later purchasing her first house in the community. Sara’s significant local presence is highlighted by the Canyon Lake Lodge’s tribute drink, the “Sara Price Mimosa Flight.”

The fundraiser at the Canyon Cowboy aims to garner support for Sara’s participation in this intense and prestigious event. The evening will include raffles, giveaways, music, and special guests. VIP tickets are available for purchase at Sarapricemx.com.

Sara, a stunt professional affiliated with the SAG-AFTRA Union, has an impressive background in motorsports and stunt performances. Her motorsports journey began when her family first moved to Canyon Lake with dirt bike racing, leading to 19 amateur titles and a medal in Women’s Super X at the 2010 X-Games. In 2016, she was named the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame Rising Star.

Sara officially announced her participation in the Dakar Rally on Sept. 28 in Mohave Valley, AZ. The challenging rally, a 15-day event, will take place in Saudi Arabia, starting on Jan. 5. She will compete in the T4 Category, driving a BFGoodrich-equipped CanAm Maverick X3, with Jeremy Gray as her navigator. They have already begun preparations, including participating in the Rallye du Maroc in northern Africa.

The 2024 Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia will feature 820 competitors from 68 nationalities, covering approximately 6,000 miles over 12 stages in 14 days.
