Family Matters QuarterMania Sunday

The Canyon Lake Family Matters Club is holding its much anticipated and fun-filled QuarterMania Sunday at the Canyon Lake Senior Center. Doors open at noon and the auction begins at 1:00 p.m.

There are only about 20 QuarterMania spots left. Tickets, while they are still available, can be purchased online at https://www.eventcreate.com/e/familymatters2023qm.

Items available for auction include, but are not limited to, hotel stays, Angels gear, whale watching excursions, Barbie items and 100s of dollars in gift cards.

VIP paddles are only $45 and include unlimited buffet and wine. General Admission paddles are only $25 and up to an additional three paddles are available for only $5 each with a paid paddle.

The way the auction works is simple. Each person bids with quarters, two or three per auction and everyone else does the same. It’s a super fun and crazy way of bidding. The most a person can spend all day on the auction is $37.50.

Game play is simple and goes something like this: bidders interested in the opportunity to win a certain basket will place their quarters in the collection jar that is on that person’s table. When the bidding begins on that item, the bidder raises the paddle and when a random number is called. If the number is the bidder’s paddle number, that person wins the auction basket.

The club will do a couple of test runs before the actual auction begins to make sure everyone knows how to play.

Vendor shopping will be available before the bidding begins, during the break between the two rounds and after the bidding finishes up.

Guests must be 10 years or older to play and need to have their own ticket. The club asks that no children under 10 attend.

Upon check in, the ticket/paddle holders will receive a guest goody bag which includes an event program, listing of vendors, auction items, raffle items, silent auction items and, of course, a bidder’s paddle. All General Admission paddles will also need quarters to participate.

Two rounds will be played. Round 1 is a three-quarter round with each basket having an estimated retail value of $50 or higher. Round 2 is a two-quarter round with an estimated value of $30 or higher.

The club has over 60 items available at the auction with a combined value of over $4,000.

In addition to the auction, QuarterMania also includes a raffle, a silent auction and the ever-popular cash cube.

Proceeds from QuarterMania will benefit the philanthropic work done by the Canyon LakeFamily Matters Club throughout the year.
