Happy Camp hosting RV Halloween Contest

It is spooky season at Happy Camp. For those with an RV at Happy Camp, the Canyon Lake POA is putting on a decorating contest. After decorating the RV in Halloween decorations, snap a picture, and email it to media@canyonlakepoa.com by Sunday.

The RVs will be judged by Canyon Lake POA Facebook visitors and winners will receive $25-50. The haunting images will be on the Canyon Lake POA Facebook page, where the community can cast their votes. Voting runs Monday through Oct. 30. The winners will be revealed on Halloween, Oct. 31.

Golf Course, Country Club closed through Oct. 29

The Canyon Lake Golf Course will be closed through Oct. 29 for its annual overseeding. Likewise, the Canyon Lake Country Club Restaurant at the golf course will be closed from through Oct. 29 for annual maintenance.

Overseeding is the process of planting new grass seeds directly over the existing turf. This process keeps the fairways green year-round. In the cooler fall and winter months, perennial ryegrass is overseeded. In the warmer months, the golf course’s Bermuda grass, which tolerates the heat well, keeps the course green.

The Canyon Lake K9 Club is holding its annual Halloween Costume Contest at the Canyon Lake Dog Park on Halloween evening at 5:00 p.m. Dogs can arrive and enter the dog parade where awards will go to Most Creative, Funniest and Scariest costumes.

The proceeds from the garage sale will be used to help needy families in the community and to support organizations that aid the sight-impaired.
