CLAPPS Tourney raises $15K for golf course projects

More than $15,000 was raised at Saturday’s Annual Canyon Lake Association of Past Presidents (CLAPPS) Beautification Golf Tournament at the Canyon Lake Country Club and Golf Course. The haul is the most raised at the event in the past 15 years, organizers said.

CLAPPS is a group of Men’s Golf Club Presidents who continue to serve the golf community with their annual fundraiser that has raised over $100,000 over the past 15 years.

“This year‘s tournament is proving to be one of the best, as preliminary reports are showing $12,000 raised,” club member Joe Kamashian said. “All proceeds from the Beautification Tournaments go to improvements on the golf course.”

Some of the recent projects funded by the annual tournament include the 11-foot street clock on the putting green, 13 concrete benches, the concrete lighthouse logo and the landscaping behind the 17th green, new sand containers and bronze tee signs on each tee box to identify the hole number and the yardages, Joe said.
