CL girl in science fair

Canyon Lake high school student Paige Williams and her project partner Estefanee Gutierrez are among the 450 students that were chosen to exhibit their projects at the Riverside County Science and Engineering Fair last week.

Paige and Estefanee are students at Temescal Canyon High School and presented their project, “Conserving Water with Oil” in the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics project category.

The Science Fair took place at Bourns Technology Center in Riverside. Winners were announced Friday. Paige and Estefanee’s project was not one of those honored, but received a lot of attention at the fair.

Paige, the daughter of Wendy Williams, has lived in Canyon Lake her entire life and is in the 10th Grade. She is also an avid tennis player and plays on the school tennis team.

The project’s purpose, Paige said, was to see which oil could preserve the moisture of plants while conserving the most water.
