Duckies available for Lucky Duck Derby

The Canyon Lake Family Matters Club Third Annual Lucky Duck Derby will take place tomorrow and competing rubber duckies are available for adoption, with fabulous prizes on the line for the winners.

The race will take place in the Canyon Lake Pool at the Lodge, but there is still time to get ducks into the race. Donations from $3.00 to $20.00 will purchase adoption papers for the racing ducks. Ducks are $3.00 for one, $6.00 for two, $10.00 for six and $20.00 for 15.

The race will be live streamed, so those with ducks in the race can watch from home. Only prize sponsors will be poolside to watch the race in person.

Adoption papers and claims to the duck’s winnings are available to give as gifts, as well. They can be ordered and emailed to family and friends in other states where they can watch the live stream online.

There are dozens of prizes given away by the race sponsors. John and Calista Grande of Canyon Lake Solar are providing the $100 first duck prize and local soap maker Lindsay Clark of Talk Dirty To Me is providing a Rub a Dub Dub $115 gift basket for another winner.

There will be prizes for those adopting duckies that cross the finish line first through fifth, as well as a prize for the last duck to finish. Other randomly-chosen ducks will also get their adopted parents prizes by other sponsors.

Information on how to purchase duck adoptions can be found on the club’s website Familymattersclub.org.
