Gardeners host wreath making workshop

Canyon Lake Community Gardeners hosted a succulent wreath making workshop in the back dining area of the PZA restaurant Saturday and 36 ladies were in attendance.

“I was encouraged to cancel the event due to the weather,” Kelly Lopez, the organizer of the event, said. “I’m so glad we didn’t. It was pouring down rain when I was loading the car, but that didn’t stop us.”

The restaurant was filled with tables of succulent clippings and all of the supplies needed to build beautiful wreaths. Kelly provided her knowledge and taught the class participants how to create the unique wreaths.

Ireen Sanz, a Canyon Lake resident, was enjoying the event with her Canyon Lake friends Lisa Mamiya and Karla Cook.

“An afternoon spent learning something new,” Ireen said. “It was a fun event with a group of great women. Thank you, Garden Club.”

“Thank you to the Canyon Lake Garden Club so much for a very fun afternoon,” Rose Marie Hand said, “It was very well organized, they had all the supplies and lots of them, along with advice that was free flowing. I can’t wait to come to all of their functions.”

The next Canyon Lake Community Gardeners project is set for March 29 and is tentatively scheduled at Sierra Park at 3:30 p.m. The class will be a “Fairy Garden” theme and children are encouraged to come. For more information, contact Kelly at 951-609-6723.
