A day in Paris at luncheon for singles living alone

The luncheon on Saturday for the Group PLAN (People Living Alone Now) held at Canyon Lake Community Church had over 100 in attendance. This Priscilla Circle group provides an opportunity for people to come together who are living alone to encourage and support each other.

The decorations and food at the luncheon were inspired by “A Day in Paris,” and the message was the hope of a better tomorrow. The dessert table was filled with pastries in the colors of reds and pinks. Rita Robles was in charge of the food which was Croque Monsieur with quinoa and strawberry salads.

Entertainment was provided by Chris Hiigel and Heather Thomas. The music was inspiring and their rendition of “Hallelujah” was performed with angelic harmonies leaving guests breathless.

“I was invited by Pastor Pete,” Howard Daque said. “This is my second time coming to these get-togethers. There are a lot of nice people.”

Likewise, Marie Flores had come once before and thoroughly enjoyed her second time.

“I did not know anyone at the table, but the people were friendly, warm and welcoming,” Marie said. “I felt like I knew the ladies at my table by the end of the luncheon.”
