Boat owners invited to DIY clinic tomorrow

Canyon Lakers are invited to a free Do It Yourself Clinic hosted by the Canyon Lake Yacht Club to learn how to get boats ready for boating season and how to trick it out.

The clinic will take place tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. at Holiday Harbor.

“Every year, boat owners are disappointed when their boats either fail to start, run poorly or quit in mid-lake on their first run of the season,” event co-chair Brian Oltman said. “Given the number of boats that have been sitting on lifts, in docks or on trailers for many months, our terrific lineup of experts will discuss how to get our boats all set for a great boating season, and more.”

Upgrades and additions to boats will also be discussed.

“This is the perfect time to check out some of the cool upgrades and additions everybody wants for their boat,” Rob Mora, the event co-chair, said.

“We’ll be discussing boat accessories like upgraded sound systems, above and below deck LED lights, add-on grills, tow bars, boat covers, the latest electronics, boarding ladders, bar caddies and a whole lot of other fun and valuable improvements for all types of Canyon Lake boats.”

The clinic will also include a time of questions and answers with dealers, techs and modifiers.

“There will be fun for the whole family,” Rob said. “Come meet service managers from local dealers, independent service technicians and the Canyon Lake Marine Patrol.”
