Club offering letters, goodies from Santa for letter writers

The Canyon Lake Family Matters Club is at it again. The 9th Annual Santa Letter Event begins on Dec. 3 at the City of Canyon Lake Winter Wonderland.

Children 18 and under who write letters to Santa get them to the club will not only receive a letter back from Santa, but also a packet of reindeer treats to leave out Christmas Eve and a hand-delivered personalized gift to the child’s doorstep.

There is no fee to participate and the club members will do their best to find a gift asked for in the letters. Previous recipients continue to be humbled and impressed by what the club does for Canyon Lake’s kids at this annual event.

“Our family can’t thank them enough for bringing magic into our home!” Melissa Flanders, a Canyon Lake mom whose children participated last year, said. “The kids were so excited to get an early present from Santa and special reindeer magic to leave out Christmas Eve. We were so amazed by the generosity of The Family Matters Club.”

Children can get the letters to Santa via the club by looking for the Family Matters letter writing table at the City of Canyon Lake Winter Wonderland Festival in the Canyon Lake Town Center on Dec. 3.

If not able to write the letters at the festival, they can be dropped off from Dec. 4 to Dec. 11 at the Santa mailbox located at 29873 Mayflower Dr.

The Family Matters Club will do its best to help Santa fulfill a wish item on the lists, however, when Santa isn’t able to obtain it in time, he asks his elves to choose something age appropriate for the child.

Letters to Santa are open to all children, and they will receive a response and reindeer treat, however, only the children who live in Canyon Lake will have a gift delivered to their doorsteps.
