FMC to hold lively Quartermania Sunday

Quartermania enthusiasts range in age from 10 years to 100 and the wait to participate is over The Canyon Lake Family Matters Club’s annual Quartermania event takes place Sunday in the Holiday Bay Room at the Canyon Lake Lodge.

To participate, all one needs to do is purchase a paddle and be at least 10 years old. Everyone must purchase a paddle to sit and play and seats are limited to 100 bidder paddles and 100 chairs.

Anyone can come, shop and watch, however, chairs are for the paid bidders. Quartermania begins at 1:00 p.m. with doors opening at noon for check in and shopping.

Quartermania is easy to play. The game is played as follows: regular paddles cost $30 at the door and the VIP paddles are $45 at the door. Two rounds will be played (estimated retail of $50 or higher). Round 2 is the two-quarter round (estimated retail of $30 or higher).

Bidders who are interested in a certain basket or item, deposit their quarters into a collection jar on the table. After the quarter deposit, the bidder raises their paddle. A random number is drawn from the raised paddles and the player with the chosen number wins that basket or item.

For increased chances to win, additional paddles can be purchased for $5. A limit of three paddles per person can be used.

Proceeds from Quartermania will go to benefiting the philanthropic world done by the Family Matters Club throughout the year.
