Canyon Lake 9-11 Tribute to fill the day with events

The Annual Canyon Lake 9-11 Tribute Patriot Day takes place on Sept. 11 and will include morning tributes, followed by an afternoon parade, vendor booths, live bands and the traditional Blue Light Tribute.

The event is being hosted by the Canyon Lake Veterans and First Responders Group and Co-Hosted by the City of Canyon Lake and the Canyon Lake POA.

The morning portion of the tribute will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial in the Canyon Lake Town Center. The ceremony there will include a tribute to the lives lost in the attacks of 9-11. The morning tribute will finish off at 10:03 a.m. with the ringing of the bell for Flight 93, the final crash that ended in a field.

The afternoon 9-11 Tribute Patriot Day activities will begin at 2:30 p.m. with a parade line up at Eastport. The parade will end at the Canyon Lake Lodge where there will be vendors and music.

At 7:00 p.m. the Blue Light Tribute begins along with guest speakers. The evening will wind down with the UC Riverside Marching Band’s bagpipe and drum band. The tribute concludes at 9:11 p.m. when blue lights will be lit across the community during a moment of silence.
