Club-hosted Comedy Night fundraiser at PZA sold out

The Canyon Lake Newbies and Social Club is putting on its third comedy night fundraiser tomorrow (Saturday) at PZA’s new event space in the Canyon Lake Town Center. The event is sold out.

The proceeds from the ticket sales, raffle ticket sales, charity auction and sponsorship donations will go to helping benefit the Canyon Lake Junior Women’s Club philanthropy and scholarship initiatives.

The popular evening differs from its previous two comedy nights. Tomorrow, the event will include a musical act to cap off the night. Canyon Lake rock cover band Steel Canyon will be performing. The event sold out quickly due to its national headliners and because seating was limited to only 75 of the club members.

Topping off the list of entertainers is long-time Hollywood comedian and actor Mark Christopher Lawrence who starred in Big Mike and appeared on Seinfeld, My Name is Earl, Malcolm in the Middle, Terminator 2, Planet of the Apes and Tales from the Hood.

Also performing is Pete George, The Rockstar of Comedy, who was in Shawshank Redemption, the Incredible of Earl, Blood Relatives and as the headliner of comedy shows at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas and the House of Blues.

The Canyon Lake Newbies and Social Club host an array of events to not only help Canyon Lake residents, but to also meet other Canyon Lakers. The club is over 850 members strong and is welcoming anyone who would like to join. Joining is easy and can be done on FaceBook by searching out the Canyon Lake Newbies and Social Club group page. Club founders Bradley and Jonda Morton said they would like to thank all the sponsors who made donations towards gifts and raffles.
