Canned Heat tickets still available for Lodge concert

World-renowned classic rock and blues band Canned Heat is set to entertain Canyon Lakers on Friday (Oct. 15) as part of the Canyon Lake POA’s Concerts at the Lodge Series. Tickets are still available.

Canned Heat was a headline act at Woodstock and, since its formation in the 1960s, has 40 albums to its credit.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. concert are available through the Canyon Lake POA website. VIP tickets are $64.00 and general admission tickets are $44.00. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Founded in 1966, Canned Heat rose to fame because its knowledge and love of blues music was both wide and deep. Canned Heat attained three worldwide hits with its rock anthems “On The Road Again,” “Going Up The Country” and “Let’s Work Together.”

The band secured its niche in rock ‘n roll history with its performances at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival and a headlining slot at the original Woodstock Festival in 1969.

Now, more than 50 years later, Canned Heat is still going strong. The band has been anchored throughout the past 53 years by the steady hand of drummer/band leader and historian, Adolfo “Fito” de la Parra.

Continuing on into his 12th year, New Orleans’ legend Dale Spalding is on harmonica, guitar and lead vocals. For the past two years, inventive bassist Rick Reed became part of the lineup after stints with Paul Butterfield, John Mayall and the Chicago Blues Reunion.

The newest addition to the band is Jimmy Vivino on lead guitar and vocals. Jimmy is best known for his 28-year association as guitarist, arranger and music director for Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Before that, he had a 20-year career playing with artists including Al Kooper, Charlie Musselwhite, Michael McDonald and many others.

Canned Heat remains committed to delighting their fans with creativity and musical energy as they continue to play “live” throughout the U.S. and around the world.
