9ers scholarship event tomorrow

Ready, set, wrap! The Canyon Lake 9er’s Golf Club spent Wednesday afternoon making 25 gift baskets for its Scholarship Golf Tournament tomorrow. In addition to the proceeds raised from the tournament entry fees, the gift baskets will be raffled off with raffle tickets purchased at the event.

Myriad other items will be awarded to the highest bids in the silent auction that will also take place at the tournament.

More than 22 items will be available to bidders, including a 65-minute helicopter tour for four people provided by Wave Rider Helicopter Tours, a 30-minute helicopter flight training, tennis lessons, golf lessons, two handmade quilts, a 2007 Boston Red Sox World Series Champion autographed bat and ball signed by Bobby Kielty, dinner for eight in a lovely Canyon Lake home, and a sunset cruise with cocktails around Canyon Lake.

There will also be many other fun activities taking place during the tournament as well as breakfast burritos and a nice dinner after the golf is complete. A new golf cart will go to anyone who gets a Hole in One on Hole 8 during the tournament.

Hole 6 will be serving up breakfast burritos and assorted beverages, such as beer and wine. A donation box will also be located at that sixth hole.

The tournament, the last before the course closes down for its annual October reseeding, will fund scholarships for Canyon Lake athletes headed to college next fall.
