Over 200 cars cram into Lodge

Hundreds of Canyon Lakers gawked at the 227 vehicles on display at the 15th Annual Canyon Lake Car Show at the Lodge on the Peninsula Saturday.

The Canyon Lake Property Owners Association and the Canyon Lake Car Club collaborated to put on the unique Canyon Lake event. Not only did those who came to view up close the vintage pre-1979 vehicles, but had access to a whole lot of fun and food.

Vendors, food trucks and an all day music DJ were at the Lodge and provided the festive atmosphere.

One woman, who reflected what many were saying at the event, said she was so happy to be able to come out to the show with her husband and just admire all the cars.

John Inglis brought his 4-year-old son Malakai who seemed as excited to be at the show as his dad. Malakai got the birds eye view of each of the cars as his dad lifted him up so he could see inside.

Participating cars paid a fee to display their cars. Proceeds from the event are donated to various groups and causes in and around Canyon Lake.

Funds from previous year’s events have been donated to the Canyon Lake Veterans Memorial, Canyon Lake Emergency Preparedness Committee, charity golf tournaments, college scholarships, park benches at the Lodge, Progeria Research Foundation, Oak Grove Center in Murrieta, amongst others.
