Neighbors by land and lake enjoy Hunter Halloween Party

Don and Patty Hunter invited friends and neighbors to come and enjoy their annual Halloween Party at their home Saturday night. Additionally, they invited the entire Canyon Lake community to bring their boats nearby and listen to the band Big City Hillbillies entertain for the evening.

Those at the party dressed in Halloween costumes and enjoyed a night of fun, food, laughter and myriad games and contests. Dancing, a mechanical bull and a costume contest were just a few of the highlights of the evening.

The Hunters provided their guests with a taco bar and various beverage bars.

The Hunters said it took almost an entire month to prepare for the night of fun. Patty said it takes her about that long to just set up all the decorations.

Josh Steeber and his dad Vince Steeber both said they had met the Hunters the night before when the Hunters were out on a walk. They said they instantly hit it off and the Hunters invited them to the party.

Neighbors Jay and Kristi Paasch attended the party and said the Hunters are the best neighbors.

“They are so kind,” Kristi said. “Their home is always so inviting and welcoming. The party was amazing.”

Patty said she was so excited to see the number of boats out by her dock listening to the music. She said she noticed a few boats stayed for almost the entire evening as the live band played, while other boats came and went throughout the party.

Don and Patty said they both wanted to thank not only their neighbors who helped them, but all those who came to the party. Patty said she hopes everyone had a great time and she is already looking forward to next year.
