Bassmasters Club holds September competition

Nolan Cromwell and Casey Engel teamed up to win the September Bassmasters Tournament with a catch of five bass weighing 19.98 pounds, barely besting second place by less than a quarter pound.  The Big Fish award went to Nolan Cromwell whose large bass weighed 5.30 pounds.

Twenty four club members on 13 boats participated in the tournament held in the early morning hours of 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Mark White and Trevor Moreno finished in second place with five fish weighing 19.75 pounds and Chuck Moreno and Shane Spinning took third with their five best fish weighing 18.43 pounds.

As a tribute to the soldiers killed at the Afghanistan Hamid Karzai International Airport, Bassmaster Club member Jim Wright said a silent prayer for 13 seconds prior to the start of the tournament.
