The Lucky Cove neighborhood won the Best Neighborhood Boat Award in the 38th Annual Canyon Lake Parade of Lights, according to Canyon Lake Yacht Club Vice Commodore Ron Wilbur, who presented the awards recently. Lucky Cove also won the Best Neighborhood Display Award in the first-ever Waterfront Holiday Display Competition also put on by the Yacht Club last month.
The Lucky Cove homeowners were represented by Mike and Kim Duffy, Joanna Uhler, Becky Bassett, Janette Cahoon, Julie Stickles and Faye Wilbur during the presentation of the awards.
Two groups of independent judges were tasked with judging for these events, one for the boat parade and a second group to judge the waterfront displays. No Club members were involved in the judging, Ron said.
“The community spirit exemplified by this one neighborhood is a great encouragement for all Canyon Lake neighborhoods,” Ron said. “The Lucky Cove folks said they’re ready to take on all competitors again next year as they work to defend their awards.”
The homeowners of Lucky Cove announced at the presentation that they will be decorating their waterfront homes for other upcoming events, including Valentine’s Day, Memorial Day, and Independence Day.
