Year-long pavement project a near wrap

The massive $3.5 million year-long pavement project is wrapping up with the Lodge parking lot’s crown jewel. No part of the project has been as involved and resulted in more of a makeover than the parking lot at the Lodge and its surrounding walkways, ramps and islands.

In addition to completely overhauling the parking lot, there is now a full walkway that begins and ends at the Lodge, much of which follows the edge of the lake. A winding ADA-approved ramp down to the boat rental docks has been added as well as a direct staircase. Landscaping throughout the parking lot and its perimeter is currently being installed and is the final part of the final phase of the entire project.

The lot itself has received curb work, retaining wall work, pavement overlay and new striping. The entire property appears brand new. Earlier in the project the swimming pool was also resurfaced, including the surrounding deck.

The $3.5 million community-wide pavement project began a little over a year ago and will be wrapping up momentarily after the railing of the new ADA walkway and landscaping (above) has their final touches applied. This was more than simply laying an additional layer of asphalt around town. Bulldozers and tile workers were among those employed to give a facelift to the POA parks and other amenities.
