Local animal shelter receives $250,000 Petco grant

What an incredible way to celebrate Valentine’s Day for the staff at Animal Friends of the Valleys. The Petco Foundation, which provides crucial funding to help local pets in need, awarded a surprise $250,000 grant investment to this local animal shelter that provides services for those in Canyon Lake on Feb. 13.

The grant is part of the more than $10 million in grant investments that the Petco Foundation will be committing to animal welfare organizations across the country as part of their annual investment process. The grants are to be used to find and invest in the most effective lifesaving animal welfare organizations nationwide.

The shelter pets and the people who save them at Animal Friends of the Valleys (AFV) also received thousands of Valentine messages of gratitude for their lifesaving work from pet adopters both locally and across the nation.

The Petco Foundation, in partnership with BOBS from Skechers and MUTTS, delivered a Valentine’s celebration of thanks and love to AFV’s staff and volunteers, along with a special gift of BOBS from Skechers shoes for the staff.

AFV is dedicated to promoting humane care of animals through education and a humane, proactive animal services program.
