Letters: Trapped Rat

Editor, The Friday Flyer:

I’ve been out of town recently but upon my return I saw the rapid progress on the giant, 900-plus homes development being built just down the road from our little bit of paradise, and I suddenly realized we are trapped.

By that I mean soon, maybe a year, there will be thousands more drivers merging on to Railroad Canyon Rd., in both directions, most likely creating constant traffic jams not unlike the dreaded 91 Fwy or possibly even worse, the 405 Fwy.

Where is the planning on how to avoid this irritating catastrophe? Totally absent from what it looks like. I’m quite sure Lake Elsinore does not give a darn about our situation and has no alternative to relieve  the pressure being created by these developments.

Does anyone have any “secret” paths around this? Will any of us ever be able to drive to Temecula in under an hour unless we head out at 5 a.m.? What are we to do? Help does not appear to be on the way and I’m starting to feel like a trapped rat.
