Junior Women’s Club celebrates successful tourney

The Canyon Lake Junior Women’s Club recently hosted a highly successful golf tournament, uniting 83 participants in a day of sport, camaraderie, and charity. The event, praised for its organization and spirited competition, made a significant contribution towards the club’s scholarship program, aimed at supporting graduating high school students.

A major attraction of the tournament was its unique helicopter golf ball drop, a spectacle that involved the sale of over 700 golf balls, generating considerable excitement and income among attendees. Balls, purchased by donors with their unique numbers on them, were dropped from a hovering helicopter onto the course’s putting green. Balls that made it into the holes were the winners.

Denise Viotti and Paul Touw were the lucky winners of this unique competition and walked away with the prize money.

Beyond the excitement and entertainment, the essence of the tournament was its charitable objective. The funds raised are earmarked for the club’s scholarship program, which is now accepting applications from students seeking financial assistance for their educational endeavors.

This initiative underscores the Junior Women’s Club’s ongoing commitment to fostering education and providing opportunities for young individuals within the community.

The club said it wishes to express its sincere appreciation to all who participated, including golfers, sponsors, and volunteers, whose generosity and support were instrumental in the event’s success.

It is through such community engagement, it said, that the Junior Women’s Club can continue to make a tangible impact on the lives of deserving students.

“We are immensely grateful for the enthusiasm and generosity displayed by everyone involved in this tournament,” a representative from the Junior Women’s Club said. “Your support not only made the event a success, but also contributed directly to the educational advancement of our community’s youth.”

The Junior Women’s Club looks forward to continuing its mission of supporting education and empowering students through future events and initiatives.

“The community’s ongoing support is vital in achieving these goals” the representative said. “The club eagerly anticipates future opportunities to collaborate and celebrate the achievements of Canyon Lake’s young minds.”
