Canyon Lake Annual Beautification Golf Tournament set for April 27

The Canyon Lake Association of Past Presidents (CLAPPS) is gearing up for its Annual Beautification Tournament, slated for April 27. The annual tournament is known for its contribution towards the enhancement of the Canyon Lake Golf & Country Club and will commence with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.

Over the last 15 years, the tournament has successfully raised over $100,000, leading to significant improvements across the golf course. These enhancements range from the installation of an 11-foot-tall Street Clock near the putting green to the placement of concrete benches, sand containers, the iconic Lighthouse logo behind the #17 green, and elegant bronze tee signs at each tee.

The tournament welcomes the public to participate and will feature a “Partners Best Ball” format for players with established handicaps and a “Scramble” format for those without handicaps. Participants are invited to select their own partners and foursomes, although the organizers will also assist in grouping individuals into teams.

An entry fee of $65 per player includes lunch post-tournament, with awards set to recognize the winners of each flight. It’s important to note that green fees and cart rentals are not covered by the entry fee. In addition to the competitive play, attendees can look forward to raffle prizes and a live auction during the lunch program, with all proceeds directly benefiting further beautification projects on the golf course.

Interested participants are encouraged to sign up at the Pro Shop. For further details or inquiries, Tom Scudieri is available at thomasscudieri@yahoo.com or by phone at 602-799-2100.

This Annual Beautification Tournament by CLAPPS represents a cherished tradition within the Canyon Lake community, not only as a day of spirited competition and camaraderie, but also as a vital contribution towards the continuous improvement and beautification of the local golf course.
