Community cleanup and shredding event set for April 27

The City of Canyon Lake, in collaboration with CR&R, is hosting its annual community cleanup and document shredding event designed to assist residents with the disposal of unwanted bulk items and secure destruction of confidential documents.

The event is slated for April 27, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and will take place once again in the parking lot of the Canyon Lake Community Church located at 30515 Railroad Canyon Rd.

Shredding services will be offered from 8:00 a.m. to noon, providing a secure way for residents to dispose of sensitive documents. This service is part of the city’s commitment to helping maintain privacy and prevent identity theft.

To participate, Canyon Lake residents will be required to provide proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or a utility bill. The event is designed to facilitate the disposal of bulky items that are difficult to discard through regular trash services. Items that will be accepted include furniture, yard waste, large appliances, and electronic waste.

However, the city has specified that certain items will not be accepted at the event, including tires, car parts, household hazardous waste, and construction materials.

Additionally, commercial and business dumping is strictly prohibited, emphasizing the event’s focus on residential cleanup. The city encourages residents to take advantage of this opportunity to declutter their homes and properties safely and responsibly.

For additional details or inquiries regarding the event, Canyon Lake City Hall can be contacted at 951-244-2955.
