Canyon Lake Yacht Club Opening Day, Blessing of Boats set for April 6

The Canyon Lake Yacht Club invites the community to its grand Spring event, the Opening Day and Blessing of the Boats ceremony on April 6, at 2:00 p.m. This annual celebration marks the start of the boating season in Canyon Lake, a tradition cherished across yachting communities worldwide.

The ceremony will feature a flag ceremony, the singing of the national anthem by Aprile McKinnon, opening remarks, and the traditional blessing of the boats. Participants are encouraged to adorn their boats with American flags to join in the festivities.

The event will conclude with a cannon blast, a symbolic gesture signaling the commencement of the boating season.

Distinguished guests including City of Canyon Lake Mayor Dale Welty, Pastor Thor Ramsey, members of the Shoreline Yacht Club, City Councilmembers, POA board members, and various members of the POA staff are expected to attend the ceremony.The club looks forward to welcoming members and guests to this significant event, celebrating the community’s maritime spirit and the joy of boating.
