Community Garden Plot Lottery opens

Canyon Lake residents have the opportunity to win a plot in the newly-established Canyon Lake Community Garden through a one-time lottery drawing to be held on March 26. The community garden features 15 ready-for-planting beds available for personal use, in addition to five beds reserved for community workshops and general use.

Interested participants can sign up for the lottery online at www.clpoa.com/communitygarden, with the chance to secure their own space for cultivating vegetables, herbs, fruits, etc. The initiative aims to foster community engagement, healthy living, and a love for gardening among residents. Winners of the lottery will be responsible for the maintenance of their plots and will enjoy the fruits of their labor, with the autonomy to harvest produce grown in their allocated beds. A fee will be required for plot rental, granting winners access to the garden via a locked gate. There is irrigation at the garden. Those not selected in the initial lottery will be placed on a waitlist for future opportunities. The lottery began taking online signups on Tuesday.
