POA honors pickleball enthusiast

Jeannette Williams was honored last week by the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association for her pivotal role in introducing and popularizing pickleball within the community. Jeanette, through her dedicated efforts in 2015 and 2016, successfully campaigned to raise awareness and teach the sport to friends, neighbors, and fellow residents, showcasing her deep passion for pickleball.

Her commitment and enthusiasm were instrumental in the establishment of the Canyon Lake Pickleball Club, which was officially sanctioned by the POA in 2016 with an initial membership of 115. As the club‘s inaugural president, her leadership helped lay the foundation for the sport‘s growth and development in Canyon Lake.

Today, the club boasts over 500 members and the POA has constructed six top-tier pickleball courts, a testament to Jeannette’s significant long-term impact on the sport in Canyon Lake. Her efforts not only introduced a new sport to Canyon Lake, but also fostered a vibrant and active pickleball community.
