Registration, safety exam for electric bicycles now required

In an effort to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for electric bicycle riders, the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association now requires all electric bicycles driven on Canyon Lake streets to be registered. This new regulation is accompanied by a mandatory online safety exam that must be completed prior to registration.

Residents seeking to register their electric bicycles can do so at the Canyon Lake POA Member Services office in the Canyon Lake Town Center during regular business hours. To facilitate a smoother registration process, the POA advises completing the Electric Bicycle Safety Exam online before visiting the office. This precautionary measure is aimed at promoting safety awareness among electric bicycle riders in the community.

After successfully completing the online safety exam, participants will receive a certificate, which will be confirmed by the Canyon Lake POA staff via email. It’s important to note that the actual bicycle does not need to be presented for registration.

Once the safety exam is completed and member status is verified, a registration tag will be issued at no cost. This tag must be affixed to the electric bicycle in a manner that makes it clearly visible from the rear. The introduction of this tag system is part of the Canyon Lake POA’s initiative to enhance safety and regulation for electric bicycle users in the community.
