Eric Frega’s cancer battle’s first fundraiser Sunday

The first of two events to help raise money to fund Eric Frega’s fight with Pancreatic Cancer takes place Sunday. The Sunday fundraiser at Canyon Lake Hair Design will raise funds by providing haircuts, pedicures and tattoos. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., first come, first served.

The fundraiser will offer haircuts, pedicures, and tattoos for men, women, and children with a minimum donation of $20 for haircuts and pedicures and $30 for half-dollar-sized tattoos. All proceeds will go directly to the Frega family, as the service providers are donating their time to support this cause.

Eric, who has been a driving force in advocating for cancer detection and prevention through his foundation, now faces his own critical health battle. With a prognosis of a 6-to-12-month life expectancy and a 1% survival rate, he is currently seeking treatment outside the country, which incurs considerable expenses.

A second fundraiser is planned for Jan. 27, hosted by Sports Stop and Patriotic Arms at the Sports Stop in the Canyon Lake Town Center. This event will include a raffle drawing with numerous prizes, including sporting goods, a handcrafted wood flag, and more. Raffle tickets are $20 each and are available for purchase at Patriotic Arms, with no requirement for the winner to be present.

Additionally, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up to gather financial support for Eric’s treatment. Donations can be made by searching for “Frega” on www.gofundme.com.

These fundraising efforts highlight the community‘s solidarity with Eric and his family, reflecting a deep appreciation for Eric’s years of dedication to helping others through his foundation. The fundraisers aim to alleviate the financial burden on his family, enabling them to focus on his treatment and care.
