CL Women’s Golf Club installs 2024 board officers

The Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club recently celebrated a successful Christmas tournament under perfect weather conditions, followed by the installation of its 2024 Board. After enjoying a 9-hole scramble, members gathered at the Canyon Lake Lodge for a delicious lunch, an awards presentation, and the formal installation of the new board members.

Kathy Homewood was installed as the new president of the board. Joining her are Ura Furry, handling Major Tournaments; Ann Blay, responsible for handicaps; Mary Burns, overseeing Tuesday tournaments; Barbara Spraul, serving as the recording secretary; Gerry Meeks as the treasurer; Marilyn Bridges, managing rules; Sheri Rawlins in charge of membership; and Claudia Pinto, the corresponding secretary.

In addition to the festivities, the members of the Women’s Golf Club contributed to Project Touch by bringing toys to donate to the organization. Project Touch provides housing to over 200 people daily, including many single mothers with children, making this gesture particularly impactful during the holiday season.

The tournament saw impressive performances, with the first place in A flight going to the team of Victoria Wood, Janelle Blanchard, Ellie Weidner, and Emma Magill. In B flight, the winning team, decided on a card-off, comprised Linda Johnson, Lila Gann, Kathy Voss, and Kathy Homewood.
