Turkey Trot invites all on Thanksgiving to its 5K

Join The Canyon Lake Triathlon and Fitness Club for the Turkey Trot 5K Run/1K Walk at Gault Field on Thanksgiving Day.

“Move your feet before you eat, wobble before you gobble,” the club’s Karin Cassidy said.

Check in starts at 8:00 a.m. with the run starting at 9:00 a.m. This free event is open to all members of the community along with their families.

A limited quantity of Turkey Trot t-shirts will be available for $15.00 each, and there is also a buy two, get one free family package. Shirts will be available for purchase at the race (cash/check or Venmo accepted).

The route starts at Gault Field, crosses Longhorn onto Hoofbeat Way and turns right onto Big Range, left onto Longhorn to Strawberry Lane and back, for a distance of 3.1 miles. Following the 5K, there will be a 1K Kids Run that circles the baseball field.

Pumpkin pies will be awarded to the first place male and female adults and treat bags for the first place male and female 1K kids runners. The Triathlon and Fitness Club will accept donations of canned or non-perishable food to donate to a local food pantry.

Costumes are encouraged. Those who have participated in the Turkey Trot in the past testify to the fun and camaraderie of joining neighbors and friends at the Thanksgiving tradition.
