Many Wonders of Christmas Nov. 18

The 14th annual Many Wonders of Christmas will take place on Nov. 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Canyon Lake Community Church. As guests arrive, they can purchase opportunity tickets for 30 beautiful lighted Christmas trees which stand about three feet high. The lovely trees are decorated by local artists, businesses, and volunteers. Some trees include gift certificates to local beauty salons, restaurants, and shops.

A catered lunch will be served at noon. Tickets are $25.00 and may be purchased by calling Lynda Ofstad at 951-244-7866.

The Many Wonders of Christmas luncheon started as a kickoff to the Christmas season, and as an outreach for the church’s women’s ministries. Guests are invited to enjoy the fellowship at Canyon Lake Community Church.

The committee works through the year to attend to every detail, including the menu, the favors, the centerpieces, the decorations, the speakers, themusic, and the Christmas trees. Lynda, this year’s chair, has had the help of a dozen church women who are experienced in the event from years past. All proceeds go towards Women’s Activities.

“The entertainment this year will be a wonderful surprise,” Lynda said. “Every table will be decorated with a poinsettia and one lucky table guest will win it. The large poinsettias on the stage will also be given away as door prizes. Each guest will take home a beautiful table favor.”

The lunch is catered and will include fantastic assorted desserts. Jim Aiken leads a group of volunteers who are husbands of committee members who serve the lunch.
