Halloween Town to award best decorations, has map of homes

Canyon Lake is like no other city when it’s Halloween Season. It seems all is celebrated to the extremes. The Canyon Lake Family Matters Club has organized Halloween house decorating into its “Halloween Town” Decorating Contest. The dozens of homes that enter the contest will be judged tomorrow night and the winners will be announced on Halloween.

Perhaps the best part of the spine-chilling adventure? All the houses that enter are on a map that the club has available for everybody to view, enabling residents to visit these extraordinary houses between now and Halloween.

Don’t miss the chance to witness these ghoulishly good displays, the club said in a haunting invitation to those in Canyon Lake and their guests.

“The community goes all out and the homes take weeks to decorate,” Shawna Bowen, the club founder, said. “Please take time to visit and enjoy all the displays that our community has to offer.”

For a detailed map and more information, head over to the club’s Canyon Lake Halloween Town Facebook Group Page where a map of Canyon Lake identifies not only the homes in the contest, but all the registered decorated homes in Canyon Lake.

Judging will take place tomorrow after dusk. The contest categories include Kid Friendly, Scariest, Most Creative, Haunted Houses/Mazes, First Time Entries and an online Residents Choice category. The winners will receive cash prizes and trophies.
