Golf Club holds Endless Summer Tournament

The Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club held its annual Member/Member Tournament a.k.a. “The Endless Summer” for three days last week.

The movie theme was embraced by all the players and carried out throughout the tournament.

The first two days consisted of a Partners Best Ball Eclectic, where the partners used their best ball score for each hole over two days.

The third day is the infamous Scotch Doubles format, which requires the partners to take turns teeing off, playing one ball and hitting alternate shots. This crazy game can be maddening, but always a lot of fun.

The tournament winners were, A Flight: 1st Gross – Mary Burns and Dena Kuhns; 1st Net – Darlene Cortez and Ura Furry; Runner Up Net – Jill Busser and Lorrie Applegate and B Flight: 1st Gross – Elaine Grady and Janelle Blanchard; 1st Net – Donna Nunes and Maxine Whalen; Runner Up Net  – Carrie Collins and Shelley Carter.

The club’s next tournament will be a Jack and Jill / Jill and Jill format. It is open to members of all Canyon Lake golf clubs and will be held Nov. 14. The sign up sheet for the tournament is in the Canyon Lake Pro Shop.
