Chamber looking for businesses to battle competition

A unique Battle of the Canyon Lake Businesses competition will take place Sept. 30 at Sierra Park and the sponsoring Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce is looking for businesses to sign up their team.

The fun competition will include teams of seven individuals from each business who will take on each other in Tug of War, Kayak Races, Arm Wrestling, Piggy Back Races, Limbo, Cornhole, Hopper Ball Races, and Potato Sack Races. Winning teams will be stewards of a championship perpetual trophy.

The day will be filled with friendly competition, community spirit, a DJ spinning groovy tunes and foodie trucks.

The food trucks at the event will be So Cheesy, S&B Tacos and Twisted Treatery. Booths of the competing businesses will also be set up to give them an opportunity to showcase their business and answer questions visitors may have.

Chamber members can participate for a sign-up fee of $250, which includes entry for a team of four to seven and booth space. All team participants must be at least 18 years old.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available and spots are already filling up. Sponsorships are available in four different categories, including Fan for $200, Cheerleader for $400, Team Player for $600 and Coach for $1,000. Each level includes an increasingly valuable set of benefits.

The Canyon Lake community is invited to attend the fun event and to come cheer on their favorite businesses and enjoy the festivities.
