Supermoon

Much has been said about the recent Supermoon rising over Canyon Lake late last month. A supermoon occurs when the moon is full within 24 hours of being at its closest point to the Earth in its orbit. They appear to be 14% bigger and 30% brighter than full moons that occur at the farthest point in the moon‘s orbit. It is rare for two Supermoons to occur in the same month. This one was the first occurrence of two in a month since 2018 and it won’t happen again until 2037.
