It took a supermoon to get two of Canyon Lake’s most popular clubs together to party and cruise around Canyon Lake.
The Canyon Lake Yacht Club and the Canyon Lake Pickleball Club jointly organized the first of their three planned moonlight cruises last week to view the supermoon rising while taking a short cruise around the lake.
Despite cloud cover threatening the visibility of the super-close moon, members from both clubs gathered at the Holiday Harbor Guest Docks.
On the docks, they enjoyed appetizers, socializing, and anticipation as they awaited the moonrise.
Once the moon was visible, boats embarked on a leisurely cruise around the Main Lake, culminating in a gathering at Catfish Cove for more social interaction and swimming.
These two clubs share a considerable membership overlap. Ron Wilbur, the Yacht Club‘s Commodore, and Ray Stribling, President of the Pickleball Club, collaborated to enhance the experience of these enchanting evening cruises by merging the efforts of both clubs.
