CL 9ers golf tournament filling up fast

Entries continue to pour in for the Canyon Lake 9ers Golf Club Super Star Students Scholarship Golf Tournament Sept. 16. The golf tournament is a major fundraiser for the club helps fund the club’s annual scholarships.

The tournament includes 18 holes of par ¾ golf and a luncheon at the tournament’s conclusion. The fee for annual members is $60 and for non-members is $90. Golf cart rentals are available for $15. Lunch only can be purchased for $22. Payments must be received by Sept. 11 at 5:00 p.m.

The tournament is open to everyone, not just club members. No handicap is needed and nobody is excluded from participating, including those who don’t live in Canyon Lake. Both men and women are invited to participate. The golf course has been modified to simplify the play with all holes being par 4 and mostly par 3 holes.

The funds raised from the tournament will be used to give scholarships next year to Canyon Lake scholar athletes. The club awards thousands of dollars to deserving young students in Canyon Lake to use toward their college education. More than $50,000 has been awarded in these scholarships since 2017.

When signing up, participants can choose a bundle to get additional perks like two free mulligans, two Magic Putts, and one Pro Shot. There are multiple contests that are part of the tournament. The various prizes are amazing, including a brand new golf cart from Prestige Golf Carts for a hole-in-one.

An opportunity to acquire a six-day, six-night South African safari will also be available at the tournament. Signing up and additional information is available at the Canyon Lake Country Club Pro Shop.
